Kay Papadopoulos holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney. She was admitted to practice in 2005, and commenced her career in taxation and commercial law, before commencing (and completing) her Master of Applied Laws (majoring in Wills and Estates) to specialise in wealth protection, business succession, and personal estate planning. Kay also has a keen interest in estate disputes. Kay is a member of the International Society of Trustee and Estate Practitioners (STEP), holding the Certified Trustee and Estate Practitioner (TEP) qualification.
Kay regularly works with testators and their trusted advisors in relation to estate planning, succession of entities (including trusts, businesses and self managed superannuation funds), tax and related matters associated with estate planning, and estate administration. She can also assist with estate disputes. Kay has experience working in a ‘Big 4’ accounting firm as a taxation consultant, a financial services company and has worked in law firms in both New South Wales and Victoria, giving her a range of experience that may inform people’s succession planning, including the establishment of charitable trusts, estate contestation, shareholder agreements, and taxation disputes.
Kay has a broad range of clients, including business owners, retirees, people with multiple entities (including family trusts and self managed superannuation funds), and young families. Her communication skills ensure that her clients (and their advisors) always understand the issues, the options, and the results obtained.
